Lit-Cube Unboxing: Limited Edition Gilmore Girls Box

Ok, so I have been a HUGE Gilmore Girl’s fan since Season 1, Episode 1.  I have watched the show from beginning to end more than once, and have even had my husband watch it all the way through making him a fan of the show as well.  That being said, when Lit-Cube announced that they were doing a limited edition Gilmore Girls box, I COULD NOT WAIT!!! Lit-Cube’s regular monthly subscription boxes never disappoint, so I knew that they would do this box justice, so I HAD to have one!  For those of you that do no know what Lit-Cube is, it’s a monthly subscription box that gets delivered straight to you and it’s like a little box of Christmas for book lovers ever month!  Each box is filled with a readable, a wearable, and an eatable, and then includes a few other things to fit the monthly theme.  Each month’s theme since I’ve joined has been amazing (time travel, Wonderland, the year of the dragon, Roaring 20’s, etc) and the box is always well over what you pay for it ($35).  For anyone interest, I will put the link to their website below.

Ok, so lets talk about this amazing box and it’s amazing contents!  I loved everything in this box, though I can’t actually attest for the taste of the Go Cubes yet as I haven’t eaten them, but here’s a breakdown of the contents:

  • Readable: Belzhar by: Meg Wolitzer (valued at $17.99)  The book sounds really interesting.  I wasn’t exactly sure how this book tied into the Gilmore Girls theme, but it was actually explained on the packing card that the chose the book because of Rory’s love for Sylvia Plath.  Apparently in Belzhar, the students take a class that focuses entirely on the works of Sylvia Plath.
  • Wearable: Exclusive Gilmore Girls T-Shirt (valued at $19.99)  The shirt reads Gilmore girls.  It’s a Lifestyle, It’s a religion.  I love the shirt.  It’s adorable.
  • Snackable: Go Cubes (valued at $2.95) These appear to be gummy cubes and stated that 2 cubes are the equivalent to 1 cup of coffee (100 MG of caffeine).  I received a pack of 4 in my box, though I’m not sure what flavor I got.  They come in plain coffee, mocha, and latte.
  • Extras:
    • Exclusive Luke’s Diner Mug (valued at $14.95)  Luke and his diner play such a central role in Gilmore girls, so the box would be incomplete without something Luke!
    • Exclusive Dragonfly Inn Towel Set (valued at $19.99)  These are too cute.  I’m afraid to put them in my kitchen for fear of the hubby using them and ruining them.  lol.
    • Exclusive Stars Hollow Pin Set (valued at $9.99) This set offers a little bit of everything for any true Gilmore Girl Fan!!!
    • Exclusive Rory Pro/Con Notepad (valued at $5.99) Ok, pro/con lists are the easiest way to narrow down your answer to Yes or No.  It doesn’t matter what the question/topic is.  I’ve been using this method my whole life!  Now I have an adorable notepad to write it on.
    • Exclusive No Cellphones! 5X7 Art Print (valued at $6.95)  It wouldn’t be a Gilmore Girls box without Luke’s No Cellphones! sign!

So as you can see, this box was definitely WELL worth the $35 I paid for it, as it quickly added up to being worth over $98 of goodies inside!!! Not every box is worth close to $100, but I can definitely say that every box I’ve gotten was $50+ in contents.  Lit-Cube is honestly the best subscription box I’ve gotten, and their customer service is amazing.  They started as a Kickstart just over a year ago, and they are amazing at what they do.  If you are interested, I’ll include the link just below this paragraph.  If you have questions, feel free to ask me and I will answer them as best I can, or check out their FAQ section on their website.  You can order single boxes, or subscribe to a monthly subscription.  They have a regular Book Box as well as now a monthly Gilmore Girls box, due to the popularity of this limited edition box, though be aware that the Gilmore Girls box will not always include a book.  Hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday!

April Lit-Cube Unboxing

Ok… So I waited extra long to get this box thanks to this move.  It didn’t get to me in time and had to be forwarded back to the states and go back through customs before it could be delivered to me.  I was super sad and anxiously waiting for it. BUT IT GOT HERE TODAY and I did a happy dance all the way to the post office to pick it up!!!  I’ve done a few of these Lit-Cube unboxing, but for those of you that have no clue what Lit-Cube is, it’s a monthly bookish subscription box that gets delivered right to your door.  It’s $34.95 and it’s always packed full of amazingness that well exceeds the cost of the box!  The items are had selected by the owner and most of them are exclusive to Lit-Cube subscribers only.  I’ll leave the link and a coupon at the end of this post!  Here’s what was in this amazing Anniversary of the Dragon box:

  1.  Readable: Slayers, by C.J. Hill (Valued at $9.99).  Slayers was given in a paperback copy.  It is a YA urban fantasy novel with a very intriguing cover.  I’m actually pretty excited to read it (at some point).
  2. Snackable: Fatman’s Beef Jerky,  Jerky Original. (Valued at $2.99).  This was by far THE BEST jerky I have EVER tasted.  It tasted real.  It didn’t take like it was loaded with a bunch of crap.  It just tasted like amazing Jerky.  The hubby, who is SUPER picky when it comes to jerky, loved it and has already looked up the brand and pricing.  **Bonus, there was also a coupon for your first purchase on Jerky!
  3. Wearable: Faux Leather Dragon Bracelet (Valued at $8.95).  This is possibly my favorite item in this box.  This bracelet is SUPER cute and I put it on immediately.
  4. EXCLUSIVE: Stacks the Book Drunk Dragon Plush. (Valued at $11.99)  Stacks is Lit-Cube’s mascot and this plush is SUPER adorable.  He was the first thing I saw when opening the box and he’s super cute.
  5. Color this Journal (Valued at $9.99).  This is super cute.  It’s a regular notebook, with lined notebook pages, but ever few pages has an adorable little page to color.
  6. Exclusive Lit-Cube pack of colored pencils with a built in sharpener.  (Valued at $6.99).  This was a perfect addition to go along with the Color this Journal.

So total for all the items included in the anniversary box is over $50, once again surpassing the $35 you pay for the box.  I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this box, seeing as it was dragon themed, but I feel that it was don very well and I love each of the items included in April’s box.  Lit-Cube never ceases to amaze me!

May #Litcube: Through the Looking Glass

Screen Shot 2016-05-15 at 11.26.55 PM.png

O.M.G.  Can we just talk about this amazingly themed Lit-Cube box?  First of all… I love ALL things Alice in Wonderland.  One of my favorite trilogies that I’ve ever read is Frank Beddor’s The Looking Glass Wars, which puts a dark spin on this already wonderful story. I love EVERYTHING that came in this box, from the t-shirt to the handwritten note from the Author of Alice Takes Back Wonderland (David. D. Hammons).  Lit-Cube never fails and always amazes!  For those that haven’t seen my previous #litcube #unboxing and do not know what Lit-Cube is, it is a monthly subscription box that is always amazingly put together based on a monthly theme.  There is always a readable, a wearable, a stackable, and a few other goodies included in the box.  No 2 boxes are the same, and much of what is included is exclusive to Lit-Cube subscribers only. The Subscription is $34.95 per month within the US, but is available for international subscriptions (I just don’t know the pricing, but I will put the link at the bottom of this post for anyone interested along with a coupon code).  You can get a 1 time box, a monthly subscription, a Gilmore Girls themed box, and occasionally a Limited Edition box.

Here’s what came in May’s Through the Looking Glass box:

Alice Takes Back Wonderland by: David D. Hammons (Valued at $18.99), this is also a Lit-Cube exclusive paperback with bonus content and a letter from the Author.

Exclusive Wonderland-Themed Tee (Valued at $19.95).

Wonderland-Themed Cookie by: Sweets by Steph! (Valued at $2.50).

Other Goodies:

Custom Alice in Wonderland Makeup Bag (Valued at $12.99). The item is made exclusively for Lit-Cube subscribers and can be used for a variety of things.  I will probably be using it for my makeup that I keep in my purse. =)

Exclusive Through the Looking Glass Pocket Mirror! (Valued at $8.99).  This is soo super cute.

2 Wonderland 5×7 Art Prints by Star in My Pocket (Valued at $12.99) Website:  These are adorable.  There is an Alice print and a Mad Hatter print.  I will definitely be putting these up in my library/office.

Alice in Wonderland Bookmark by Star in My Pocket (Valued at $3.25) Website:  Also SUPER cute, and a bookworm can NEVER have enough bookmarks.

So the total for each of the items is over $79, and I only paid $34.95 for my box.  As you can see, Lit-Cube definitely makes this subscription worth your while.  It is by far one of the best subscription boxes I’ve ever subscribed to, and the people that work behind the scenes to bring it to you are fabulous.  If this seems like something that interest you, please check it out.  They have a lot of amazingness to offer!  June’s subscription box is a Roaring 20’s Mystery box and it was announced that the book will NOT be a YA read.  Check it out, try a month and see if it’s for you, and enjoy tons of amazing items hand selected to fit this amazing theme!!!  Here’s some spoilers for Lit-Cube’s FB page for June:

March Lit-Cube UnBoxing

OK…Can we just stop for a second and admire how amazing this subscription box is???  I’m in LOVE with it!!!  So this is my 2nd box from Lit-Cube, and if you don’t know what Lit-Cube is let me explain!  Lit-Cube is a monthly subscription box for book lovers like me filled with amazing bookish items and a monthly book.  Every month is themed, and the value of the items in the box ALWAYS well exceeds the cost of the box itself.  Each box comes with a readable, a wearable, a snackable, and other various items!!!  It’s $29.99 + shipping/handling each month for the U.S. and they just opened for international shipping as well!!!  So, this months theme was time travel. Let me tell you what amazing things I got in this box!

1.) Readable: Loop, by Karen Akins, hardcover (valued at $18.99)

“At a school where Quantum Paradox 101 is a required course and history field trips are literal, sixteen year-old time traveler Bree Bennis excels at screwing up.

After Bree botches a solo midterm to the 21st century by accidentally taking a boy hostage (a teensy snafu), she stands to lose her scholarship.  But when Bree sneaks back to talk the kid into keeping his yap shut, she doesn’t go back far enough.  the boy, Finn, now three years older and hot as a solar flare, is convinced he’s in love with Bree, or rather, a future version of her that doesn’t think he’s a complete pain in the arse.  To make matters worse, she inadvertently transports him back to the 23rd century with her.

Once home, Bree discovers that a recent rash of accidents at her school are anything but accidental.  Someone is attacking time travelers.  As Bree and her temporal tagalong uncover seemingly unconnected clues- a broken bracelet, a missing data file, the art heist of the millennium- that lead to the person responsible, she alone has the knowledge to piece the puzzle together.  Knowledge only one other person has.  Her future self.

But when those closest to her become the next victims, Bree realizes the attacker is willing to do anything to stop her.  In the past, present, or future.”

2.) Wearable: Dr. Who Quote Tee (valued at $19.99)

Quote: “I am and always will be the optimist, the hoper of far-flung hopes and the dreamer of improbable dreams.”

3.) Snackable: That’s It. Fruit Bar (valued at $1.99)

1 Apple + 10 Cherries, That’s it.  These have no added sugar, no preservatives, no Fat, are non GMO, with only 100 calories and 3g of fiber.  They are Gluten Free, All Natural, Kosher, Vegan, and Raw!  =)

4.) Frostbeard Studios Candle (valued at $4.99)

The candle received is their Doctor Who candle in the scent Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey and it’s an amazing smelling candle.  It’s slightly sweet like bubblegum, while still being slightly masculine.  I can’t stop smelling it!

5.) Life Canvass Travel Pocket Journal (valued at $5.99)

I think this is absolutely adorable.  I wish that I would have gotten this years ago as it would have been an awesome addition to all the travels we’ve done around Europe these past 7 years.  It’s beautifully illustrated and has little quotes and prompts throughout the pages.  Super cute!

6.) Hermione Time Turner (valued at $8.99)

This is a replica necklace of the one Hermione wears in the Harry Potter movies and I absolutely adore it.  It has the hourglass in the center, each part spins, and it’s engraved:

“I mark the hours every one, nor have I yet outrun the sun, My use and value, unto you, are gauged by what you have to do.”

There was also a swag bookmark from author B. Brumley showcasing her Faerie series and 10 other others and the Lit-Cube themed card that is in each box.  So all in all I paid $29.99 plus shipping and received over $60 worth of items in my box.  I chalk that up as a win in my books.  If you are interested in Lit-Cube check out their site and try them out.  Like I said, this is my second month of receiving their boxes and they have thoroughly impressed me each time.  They currently have a Gilmore Girls Limited Edition box for GG fans for $39.99 plus s&h.  It’s almost sold out, so don’t wait on that one.  The Limited Editions never last long.  And for those interested in the regular subscription box, April’s theme is Anniversary of the Dragon as it is their 1 yr anniversary, so you know that this will ALSO be a special box.  =)

Lit Cube Subscription Box

Screen Shot 2016-02-28 at 8.43.45 AM.png

So I just realized that I never posted my Lit-Cube review on here.  I put it on my IG, my FB, and youtube…but somehow it slipped my mind to put it on here (fail…I know)!  So, if you haven’t heard of Lit-Cube before and you are a bookworm like myself, check them out.  As you can see from the picture posted above, they are AMAZING!  They are a monthly subscription box that is $29.99 + shipping.  Every box comes with a readable, a stackable,  a wearable, and more and every month is themed.  February’s theme was classic romance, while March’s theme is time travel.

This was my very first Lit-Cube box and I am in love with this company.  The items in the box well surpassed the cost of the box being that one item in the box was $45.  I felt like everything fit the theme of classic romance perfectly and every item was something that I would use.  I’m definitely keeping this subscription box for sure!  So here’s what I received in my February box:

  1. Readable: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen with an exclusive cover design that was printed for Lit-Cube.  Love the exclusive minimalist style cover and LOVE the book.  (Valued at $14.99)
  2. Snackable: Lavender Lemon Truffles by Jack Valley Truffles.  So the only thing negative I can say about these is that there wasn’t more as there was only a package of 2.  These were SOOOO yummy!  They were the best lemon truffle I’ve ever had with just a touch of lavender.  If you want to try them, they are on etsy at (Valued at $3.99)
  3. Wearable: Exclusive Austen-Inspired Perfume by FictionFragrances.   I received the Elizabeth Bennet Fragrance.  It is a little sweet, but SUPER light.  Has light floral and fruit scents too it.  I really loved the way it smelled.  It is a roll on perfume that is the perfect size to keep in your purse.  Check these out at (Valued at $9.99)
  4. Exclusive Item: Wuthering Heights Wallet by Chick-Lit Designs.  This was the item that I was DYING to see. We had no clue what the item was, only that it was a collaboration with Chick-Lit designs.  This is another MUST SEE shop.  Chick-Lit Designs has some of the BEST phone cases I have EVER seen.  They all look like book covers and have slots to hold cards and money built into them.  I have been eyeing a couple that I can’t decide between for a while and then they announced that she would be creating an item for February’s box.  This wallet is THE CUTEST thing EVER!!! Go check out her stuff. It’s a MUST for any book lover! (Valued at $44.99)
  5. Magnetic Bookmarks by HappyHelloCo.  This was yet again another design created for Lit-Cube’s February box.  These were ADORABLE Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy magnetic bookmarks.  There are TONS of different bookmarks in their shop, so feel free to check them out as well.  I adore these things, plus they are SUPER practical. (Valued at $4.99)
  6. Pride and Prejudice 5X7 Art Print. A really cute print that says: “I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.” -Pride and Prejudice.  I would totally put this print up in my library room. (valued at $5.99)
  7. And of course, ever Lit-Cube box comes with a themed Lit-Cube card.  You can see it in the top left corner of the picture sitting on top of the book.  Some people collect them and I suppose that you could also use them as a bookmark. =)

So, as you can see my box came with over $80 worth of items inside when I only paid $29.99 before shipping.  I think I paid $5 for shipping, so that was not bad at all.  I think that they only ship to the US and Canada right now, but I’m sure if enough people outside of those areas bug them enough they may change it. =)   There are still 2 days left to order the March box which is Time Travel Themed.  They did let out that there will be something from Frost Beard Studios and “just what the Doctor ordered” inside the box.  I can’t freaking wait.  I hope that it was a Doctor Who reference as I am a huge fan of Doctor Who as well. I’ll keep posting my unboxing reviews on here for you all as well.

Also, stay tuned as I will be posting some book reviews VERY soon.  I have a couple in hand that I am reviewing for a couple of different authors, so once finished I’ll post them on here as well.  Hope you all are having a fantastic day!
